Maehem News: BLACK HEART SAINTS Releases Official Music Video For ‘Misery’

January 31, 2020 – Austin Music Award-winning band BLACK HEART SAINTS has just released the fourth and final installment from their new Misery EP — a blistering Southern hard rock tune that masterfully melds the soulfulness of THE BLACK CROWES with the sheer heaviness of SOUNDGARDEN.

The music video for “Misery” takes a darker tone than the previous installments of the series, touching upon such topics as addiction and depression. All four music videos from the Misery EP were shown as part of a film premiere at Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, TX earlier this month, which featured a red carpet and a curated drink menu.

Black Heart Saints has continued to turn heads around the country, and will be featured as part of Sweetwater Studio’s Master Class program — a specialized recording class available to the public that recently hosted such names as ANTHRAX and ERIC JOHNSON.

Misery EP Track List:
1. Lines
2. Crazy
3. Addicted to Love
4. Misery

Dangerous & dirty, with a distinct groove steeped in classic rock, yet with a modern intensity. Black Heart Saints gives fans exactly what they want – rock god vocals catapulted over explosive, memorable riffs – leaving legions of the rock ‘n’ roll faithful yearning for more.

After debuting at South by Southwest Festival, this powerhouse quartet has been building a solid reputation as a support act for national touring bands such as Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The ConspiratorsSevendustSteel PantherPop EvilBuckcherryStryperDirty Honey, and more.

The soaring vocals of front-man Josh Ross have drawn comparisons to Myles Kennedy and Chris Cornell. While the band is influenced by the likes of Mötley CrüeGuns ‘N Roses, and other legendary Hard Rock acts, the commanding presence of Black Heart Saints’ live show brandishes an updated take on the genre.

Quickly conquering some of the biggest stages and festivals in the United States, Black Heart Saints has built an impressive resume, and has been recognized as one of the nation’s top emerging rock acts:

– 2019 Austin Music Awards Winner #1
– Music videos featured in over 5,000+ gyms across the US and Canada
– Sturgis Motorcycle Rally Headliner
– Austin Chronicle Music Awards: Top 10 Best New Bands
– San Antonio’s Fiesta Oyster Bake Headliner
– Official South By Southwest Festival Performer
– Buffalo Trace Battle of the Bands Grand Prize Winner
– ESPN X Games Performer

The band’s first full-length release – ALIVE – was soon followed by the Road to Sturgis Tour 2017, which put Black Heart Saints’ charismatic live performance to the test when the band took the stage at the world-renowned motorcycle rally, attended by over 500,000 bikers from all around the globe.

In 2018, Black Heart Saints embarked on an extensive tour to the West Coast beginning in January, which included a highlight performance at the legendary Viper Room in West Hollywood, California. On April 12th, 2018, Austin City Council and Mayor Steve Adler officially proclaimed April 12th to be “Black Heart Saints Day.”

After being tapped to open for Steel Panther, Slash, and Pop Evil throughout 2018 and 2019, Black Heart Saints has been dominating stages in their native Texas, with highlight performances at prestigious venues such as the House of Blues in Houston, Texas.

The band’s latest release, Misery EP, which features an accompanying film based on the band’s music, has received rave reviews:

“When I first heard opening track ‘Lines’ I knew Black Heart Saints were onto another winner. The song, which comes across like a heavier take on ‘Southern Harmony-era’ Black Crowes, is something special indeed and a great way to start this four track EP. Just to make sure you are sat up and paying attention then ‘Crazy’ muscles in, it’s a big-riffed stomper that smashes the door down making it another great opening to a Saints’ release.” – The Rock Pit (Australia)

“Take advantage of this now. Hit those local shows while you still can, grab that grainy IG video proof and a moment to meet & greet the guys before they’re selling out stadiums and you miss that opportunity.” – Kail Rose (dRiFFt)

Maehem News: THE SHRIEKS Release Music Video for ‘Synaptic Free Zone’

August 5, 2019 – Alternative Rock Band THE SHRIEKS has released the visually intense music video for their politically charged single, “Synaptic Free Zone,” off of their April released LP, Toxygen.

“‘Synaptic Free Zone’ is a fun song about something that is not so fun.

The reality that we are all sheep following a blind destiny ordained by giant corporations that manipulate and orient us in ways that suit their business model, which is..’Don’t question, just follow, consume, and continue to be just a small number in their algorithm of pawns and deception’.

The Synapse is a junction between two nerve cells, consisting of a minute gap across which impulses pass by diffusion of a neurotransmitter. If we’re not thinking for ourselves we are in essence ‘Synaptic Free’.” – Luis Accorsi

Track List:
1. Chainsaw
2. Frustration in the Nation
3. Recess
4. Hot Strife
5. Synaptic Free Zone
6. Free Radical
7. Story of Bad Luck
8. The Good, The Bad, The Ugly
9. Outta the Way
10. Dam
11. Purple Fold
12. Spangalore

The Shrieks is Luis Accorsi (aka Tito Lembi) based out of Brooklyn. Luis and his fantastically talented friends are the synthesis of pure, unadulterated, meaningful protest rock. Toxygen is relevant to our times and original, incredible music. It takes us further into being a protest band, but not all our music has to do with the state of the world. It has to do with the state of us as humans: in love, distraught, downtrodden, happy. Our tracks are about never being apathetic. We make our feelings known, and what comes from the heart, gets to the heart.

Maehem News: UNVEIL THE STRENGTH: Members From FFDP, Sacred Mother Tongue, Invidia, Flatine, Devolved & Stratovarius

June 20, 2019 – Mark Wölfe, Andy James, Matt Snell, Matt Guillory, and Tim Hassemer–former members of Five Finger Death Punch, Sacred Mother Tongue, Invidia, Flatline, Devolved, and Stratovarius–have come together to form the heavy metal band, UNVEIL THE STRENGTH. The band introduces themselves in the following video, featuring their upcoming track, “War Inside Us All.”

Unveil the Strength, a quintet composed of former members of iconic bands such as Five Finger Death Punch, Sacred Mother Tongue, Invidia, Flatline, Devolved, and Stratovarius are returning to the soul of hard rock: writing and performing real songs with real meaning. Says Matt Snell, bassist for Unveil the Strength, “We want to put the grown man back in metal – that spirit is being lost in the shuffle. We’re going back to the roots, to real fucking metal.”

Despite the band’s old-school approach to writing, they’re taking a contemporary approach to marketing their music. For their upcoming album, Unveil the Strength will not do a traditional record release. Snell reveals, “The landscape has changed so much regarding how to successfully get music to the public, so we’re going a different route. Right now, we’re halfway through the album and we have video concepts for every song. Instead of releasing all 10 songs at once that will just be put up on the internet to be stolen, our idea is to constantly release new songs all the time. We want to unveil this record to the public, with a video to go along with each song.”

Although the band is officially based out of Austin, TX, Unveil the Strength is truly an international band with members in London, Nevada, California, Colorado, and Texas. All of the band members have professional studios where they can record their own instrument’s tracks, so the group easily collaborates by file sharing.

Their first recording, titled “Foundations,” was recorded in Austin, TX. They wanted an edgier sound than what is currently being produced in the States, so they have been working with Rob Kukla of Studio Fredman and Henrik Udd of Henrick Udd Recording in Gothenburg, Sweden. Udd is known for his impeccable production with acts such as Architects, Bring Me The Horizon, At The Gates, and Delain. The upcoming album slated for a 2019 release, is still in the recording process, but Snell admits, “The production is amazing on the new album. It accentuates that we’re an active rock band – but we’re a little bit heavier, a little bit edgier. It illustrates that we can write, and that we have an ear for metal.” Snell is especially proud of Mark’s lyrics, which he describes as “real.” Snell goes on to praise Mark’s extraordinary writing ability, saying, “Mark has had an amazing life. He is a Marine; a veteran. He’s lived on the streets, ya know? He’s seen and done a lot. He writes from his core being and writes real songs that relate to the band’s message.”
